Flood in Manila, My Saturday, High School, 8th grade
OMG! Did you hear? Manila is flooding! I was so shocked when i heard this! My uncle is there vacationing in Rizal and his son’s house (the place he’s staying in) is flooding! (from what i heard from my dad) I hope everyone in Manila and such places where its flooding is okay! I must be really bad! Most of my Facebook friends are talking about it and its all over the news! (regular US channels and filippino channels). I’m sorry i just needed to blog this! argh. sometimes i really wish we (here in the east coast of the US) would have a flood! That’ll be so awesome i guess, a nice experience too. School would be closed, i can stay home all day… *sigh* haha. Well really sometimes i don’t want a flood too because of the disadvantages in having one. Your stuff can be ruined, you have to leave for a shelter, you have to leave all you stuff behind. Actually, i just remembered… i did have kind-of and experience in a flood. One day, in 2007 it was raining really really hard and we had sometimes leakages downstairs in the basement… and then it started to flood! We found out the next morning when all our renter’s stuff (she lived in our basement at the time) was ruined! We had to use buckets to remove the dirty water! I personally didn’t see all this happening but i was told by my parents when i woke up. The basement floor was wet too and it had the wierdest stench in it! EWWW.. It was not pretty… lol
Okay now… enough about floods!
Last Saturday, there was a festival near my cousins house! It was big! It was by the Anacostia River i believe. It was fun i guess.. i didn’t stay there for long. They had about 4 to 5 moon bounces, one rock climbing wall, a raffle ticket booth, alot of food (of course), and a bunch of stages where different people sang and stuff like that! I was with my friend and we walked to my cousins house. There was my cousin and our friend, Trisha, making cheesecake cupcakes i think. lol i wasn’t really sure what it was… anyways i stayed there awhile and my friend left a few mins later, then we went to a boxing party. It was Marquez vs. Mayweather. I guess from what i heard whoever wins (Mayweather won) plays against Manay Paquio (PacMan) in November. We were there from 5 to 12 in the morning! Me and my cousins were very sleepy.. my cousin fell asleep while i stayed up because my little cousins were bugging me to get up and play with them! and i was very noisy with people saying “OHHHH” and “WHOA!” and “HOY!” and such words like that! Then we left! Finally! haha.
Well that the last Saturday. There was a festival TODAY except this time near my house. I didn’t really go around today; therefore, i can’t say much from what happened today. It was raining though and there were supposed to be fireworks but they couldn’t play it because of the rain… Stupid rain! WHY TODAY?? lol. Today was also my school’s Parish Picnic. i attended but since i didn’t know anybody there (since i was new and we only had about 1 month of school already), i only knew a few people, i left. There was nothing to do… Well there’s my Saturday…
Ugh now about High School… Since i am now in the 8th grade, middle school, i have to start applying for different high schools… You have to shadow* i haven’t shadowed any schools yet but i will soon. We had a few high school visits recently and there not bad but i’m not really interested in those schools. You know the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid? Well the author (i forgot his name) studied in one of the high schools that visited my school. I was so shocked! I’m considering going to their open house and maybe shadow there too. Most of the students there were very successful in life. (For example, one has a best selling book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, another is an astronaut in the NASA space station thing, an NFL coach, a doctor, etc.) The problem is… its kind of far. oh well its only for consideration. I’m planning of definitely going to 2 specific schools and both are very good schools, from what i heard one is one of the best schools in the area. I hope when after i shadow and send in their application in December i’ll get accepted! YAY! lol
Now… I would like to tell you what i had for my progress report on Friday..

So far i’ve been doing well in school i guess. Except Reading.. it my weakness at the moment. I’ve had worse.. Good thing its only a progress report it’s not the real report card! Oh Goodness, if that was my report card that wouldn’t be good for my high school applications! But they’ll probably accept me because i participated in school clubs and such. I joined the yearbook club and i joined the band this year.. i play the flute and i really never played one in my life before so i’m in the beginners band. hahaa. oh wells. Sucks for me.
WELL … thats my post for today. Wow 910 words! This is a long post! Oh well. I don’t care much.
